One September 30th, 1955, 5:45 PM, 24-year-old actor James Dean was killed in Cholame, California, when the Porsche he was driving hit a Ford Tudor sedan at an intersection. Dean was a cultural icon of teenage disillusionment and social estrangement reaching super stardom after appearing in three blockbuster movies. East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause and Giant.
The Porsche Spyder convertible Dean was driving had the numbers 130 painted on the front hood, doors and rear deck lid. The words"Little Bastard” in script was also painted across the rear cowling. Was Dean cursed, or the Porshe Spyder, and did he make a deal with the devil who came to collect in his big ol’ Lincoln that day in Cholame?
